information : Highly variable, ranging from yellow to orange, less commonly reddish brown or black. Densely hairy with warts bearing often more than 30 long, soft setae of varying lengths. Most setal clusters with at least 1 very long fine setae nearly twice the length of others in tuft. Spiracles white. Food: Broadly polyphagous on low growing plants and shrubs. Caterpillar: May to November; 3 or more generations in South, 1 or 2 in North.
